Meet Our Singers
Hannah Greenwood
Soprano
Hannah Greenwood is one of the group’s sopranos. She is in her second season with the group and is in her second year at the university studying Philosophy Politics and Economics (PPE). Hannah has a Grade 8 in Singing and is an experienced musical theatre performer with notable roles including Fantine in Les Miserables, and Rona in Spelling Bee. Hannah is the group’s upper soprano and is thus the highest voice in the group however she can and often will cover lower soprano lines. Outside of Illuminations Hannah is from Solihull and her favourite colour is orange!

Alissa Devereux
Soprano
Alissa Devereux is one of the group’s sopranos. She is in her first season with the group and is in her first year at the university studying Psychology. Alissa has a Grade 8 in Musical Theatre Singing, a Grade 8 in Flute and Grade 8 in Drama. She has performed with various choirs, close harmony groups and acappella groups. She is also an accomplished solo singer having performed solos such as Vidit Suum Dulcem Natum (Pergolesi) and Stabat Mater (also Pergolesi). Alissa is the group’s lower soprano however can and often does cover our higher soprano lines. Outside of Illuminations Alissa is from Cambridgeshire and has a dog called cracker!
Georgia Kendall
Mezzo-Soprano & Soprano
Georgia Kendall is the group's mezzo-soprano/soprano. She is in her first season with the group and is in her second year at the university studying Drama. Georgia has a long history of choral contemporary and musical theatre singing, having performed a lead role in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Qatar National Theatre. Additionally Georgia is the Librarian for the Exeter University Singers, and is the Production Supervisor for Exeter University Theatre with Teeth. Georgia is the group’s highest mezzo-soprano however alternates between this line and soprano. Outside of Illuminations Georgia is from Hertfordshire and has lived in three countries (Qatar, Germany and the UK)!

Natalie Saunders
Mezzo-Soprano
Natalie (Nat) Saunders is one of the group’s mezzo-sopranos. She is in her first season with the group and is in her third year at the university studying Film and Television Studies. Nat has a Grade 8 in singing, Grade 7 in flute, and Grade 5 in violin. Nat has also been in multiple musical ensembles including both orchestras and choirs. Natalie is the group's mid range mezzo-soprano, alternating between the upper and lower lines however is most commonly found on the lower. Outside of Illuminations Nat is from Wolverhampton and once broke both arms at the same time!
Hope Tait
Mezzo-Soprano
Hope Tait is one of the group’s mezzo-sopranos. She is in her third season with the group and is in her fourth year with the university after a year abroad in Australia studying Biological Sciences. Hope has a Grade 8 in singing, has performed in musicals bands, and been a part of multiple choirs and soul groups. Hope was the Vice-President of Illuminations in Generation 13 (2023/24 season). Hope is also the 3 time winner of the Oxford Music Festival. Hope is our lowest mezzo-soprano however she can and often does cover our higher mezzo lines as well. Outside of Illuminations Hope is from Oxford and her favourite artist is Spacey Jane!

Ella Connolly
Alto
Ella Connolly is one of the group’s altos. She is in her second season with the group and is in her second year at the university studying Law. Ella is a five time consecutive Irish National Singing and Fiddle champion and has a Grade 8 in violin and Grade 7 in Fiddle. Ella has also been a guest singer for an internationally renowned Irish band, a member of chamber choirs and close harmony groups and plays the harp. Ella is the group's highest alto and when needed can cover our mezzo lines. Outside of Illuminations Ella is from North London and can sing while breathing inwards!
Fenella Troughton
Alto
Fenella (Fen) Troughton is one of the group’s altos. She is in her first season with the group and is in her first year at the university studying Drama and Film Studies. Fen has achieved LAMDA Grade 8, plays the guitar, and has completed a foundation course at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Fen is the group’s mid range alto alternating between the upper and lower alto lines. Outside of Illuminations Fen is from Gloucestershire and can juggle, do the splits and solve a rubiks cube in under a minute!

Emily Jones
Alto
Emily Jones is one of the group’s altos. She is in her first season with the group and is in her first year at the university studying Business Management with Industrial Experience. Emily has a Grade 8 in singing with distinction and was a part of the Ovo Voice of a Million Choir for 7 years. She is also the lead singer in the band New Judgement and is an artist in her own right writing, producing and releasing her own music, with her latest single ‘More Perfect’ available to stream now. Emily is the group’s lowest alto and thus lowest upper voice, however she can and often does sing our higher alto lines when required. Outside of Illuminations Emily is from Guildford and is a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter!
Sammy Till-Vattier
Tenor
Sammy Till-Vattier is one of the group’s tenors. He is in his first season with the group and is in his second year at the university studying Drama. Sammy has Grade 8s in singing and trombone, as well as a Grade 6 in piano. Sammy is a member of the Aldbourne brass band and has performed with the South West Youth Orchestra. He also has qualifications in LAMDA and RADA, has spent 8 years in stage coach and performed in theatres across the country including in the West End and Birmingham. Sammy is the group’s high tenor. Outside of the Illuminations Sammy is from Wiltshire and is very good at impressions!
Mackenzie Gilmore
Tenor
Mackenzie Gilmore is one of the group’s tenors. He is in his second season with the group and is in his second year at the university studying Drama. Mackenzie has ABRSM Grade 8 Musical Theatre with Distinction, and has performed lead roles in musicals such as Guys and Dolls and was also a lead soloist in A Night at the Musicals with HM Royal Marines Band. Mackenzie is also the lead vocalist and lyricist in the folk-rock band harbour. Mackenzie is the group’s lower tenor however can and often does cover our upper tenor lines. Outside of Illuminations Mackenzie is from Portsmouth and can’t solve a rubiks cube!
Inigo Bigland
Baritone & Tenor
Inigo Bigland is the group’s baritone-tenor. He is in his first season with the group and is in his second year at the university studying Drama and Film Studies. Inigo has a diploma in pop and rock vocals from Trinity College London. Inigo is the group’s baritone-tenor and his large versatile range allows him to alternate between the baritone and tenor line depending on what the arrangement requires. Outside of Illuminations Inigo is from London and enjoys cooking and DJing!

Ben Davis
Baritone
Ben Davis is one of the group’s baritones. He is in his second season with the group and is in his second year at the university studying Drama. Ben is a multi-instrumentalist and has Grade 6 in guitars and Grade 7 in drums. This multi-instrumentalism led him to begin producing and writing his own music which is where the majority of his singing experience has been acquired. Ben is also a keen theatre performer achieving notable roles in shows such as Spelling Bee, Amelie, and And Then There Were None. Ben is the group’s mid range baritone and alternates between the upper and lower baritone lines. Outside of Illuminations Ben is from Hertfordshire and he has been on TV twice!
Freddy Jones
Baritone
Freddy Jones is one of the group’s baritones. He is in his first season with the group and is in his first year at the university studying Drama. Freddy has a LAMDA Grade 8 in Musical Theatre and is an experienced musical theatre performer and singer, having played lead roles in musicals such as Anything Goes, Legally Blonde and Footloose. Freddy is the group’s lowest permanent baritone however he can and often will cover our upper baritone lines. Outside of Illuminations Freddy is from Somerset and his favourite cocktail is a banana mudslide!

Elliot Mainwaring
Bass-Baritone & Beatboxer
Elliot Mainwaring is the group's bass-baritone and beatboxer. He is in his third season with the group and is in his third year at the university studying Theology and Religion. Elliot is an internationally renowned beatboxer performing under the alias ‘Aspie’. He is the 2025 UK Beatbox Vice-Champion and the Adriatic Beatbox Battle Champion. He is also the first beatboxer in the UK to be the recipient of 4 outstanding vocal percussion awards at the ICCAs. When not beatboxing, Elliot alternates between singing bass and baritone with the group depending on the arrangement, with the majority of his singing experience coming from his time singing with choirs. Outside of Illuminations Elliot is from Hertfordshire and is a massive fan of Doctor Who!
Jake Castle
Bass
Jake Castle is the group’s resident bass singer. He is in his second season with the group and is in his second year at the university studying Natural Sciences. Jake is an experienced bass guitar player and singer and as a result has a deep rich knowledge of bass technique and theory. He has a long history of experience singing bass with choirs and so is very used to performing as a part of an ensemble. As the group's permanent bass singer Jake acts as the foundation of our sound. Outside of Illuminations Jake is from Sussex and is an avid climber and DnD player!
